An air, land and sea invasion? Matakana’s Ascension Wine Estate hosted an international contingent all coming together to celebrate with Perth’s Kat & Beau. This summer’s only rainy day made the crew from Vancouver feel right at home while providing a moody backdrop to these images.

The guys are all ex-navy or Armed Forces and enjoyed amazing views over Devonport from Takapuna’s Spencer on Byron hotel.  Meanwhile just round the corner the girls had shipped in from all corners of the world and were busy prepping from the day ahead at a private home.

A short skip up the motorway and beyond lead us to Matakana’s top wedding venue, Ascension Wine Estate. As usual the service from the staff was absolutely faultless and friendly.

While the rain held off for the majority of the touching ceremony we busted out the brollies to wander round the vines after. The beautiful soft lighting was just stunning.
