See the press release below:
Island five, an exhibition featuring the work of 5 award winning Waiheke photographers: Emma Hughes, Blair Quax, Lauretta Quax, Alice Doig and Phillipa Karn. The exhibition is being held at Cable Bay Vineyard and runs for two weeks from Monday 11th Feb until Sunday 24th Feb. Each photographer is contributing 5 pieces of work that have won either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award in New Zealand’s two most prestigious professional photography competitions, the Kodak Gold Awards or the Epson/NZIPP Iris Professional Photography Awards. The exhibition features wedding and portraiture images as well as landscape and travel photography. On display will be the actual award winning prints submitted to the competitions, images which many Waihekeians will be familiar with since a lot of the work on display has been published in the local papers over the last few years and also feature on the individual photographers websites, blogs and facebook pages.
